Establishment and incorporation of the University.- (1) There shall be established in the State of Rajasthan, a University by the name of the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. (2) The University shall consist of a Chancellor, a Vice-Chancellor, a Pro-Vice- Chancellor, a Board of Management, an Academic Council, the Research Council, an Extension Education Council and other authorities and officers as specified in this Act or the Statutes. (3) The University shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by its corporate name. (4) The University shall be competent to acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, to lease, sell or otherwise transfer any movable or immovable property which may have become vested in or have been acquired by it for the purpose of the University, and to borrow money from the Central Government, State Government or any other sources approved by the Central or the State Government and it may enter into a contract and do all other things necessary for the purposes of this Act. (5) In all suits and other legal proceedings by or against the University, the pleadings shall be signed and verified by the Registrar and all processes in such suits and proceedings shall be issued to and served on the Registrar. (6) The Headquarters of the University shall be at Bikaner.
