Section 13

Review committee to exercise the powers of a civil court in certain matters

(1) The Review committee constituted under section 12 shall, while discharging the duties under this Act, have all the powers of a civil court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act No. V of 1908) in respect of the following matters, namely:- (a) summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath; (b) requiring the discovery and production of any document; (c) receiving evidence on affidavits; (d) requisitioning any public record or copy thereof from any court or office; and (e) issuing Commissions for the examination of witnesses or documents. (2) For the purpose of discharging its duties, the Review committee shall have the right to inspect or cause to be inspected any office or establishment referred to in subsection (1) of section 12.
