Section 14

Membership of the Academic Council

Membership of the Academic Council.- (1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following persons, namely:- (a) the Vice-Chancellor, who shall be the Chairman thereof; (b) three persons from amongst the eminent educationists or men of letters or members of learned professions, who are not in the service of the University to be nominated by the Chancellor; (c) the Secretary to the Government, Law and Legal Affairs Department, Government of Rajasthan; (d) one person nominated by the Chairman, Bar Council of India; (e) all Heads of the Departments of the University; (f) all the Professors (other than the Heads of the Department); (g) two members of the teaching staff, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst Associate and Assistant Professors of the University in order of seniority in each category by rotation; ∗(h) one member of the Legal Education Committee of the Bar Council of India to be nominated by the Chairman of the Committee; and *(i) three eminent Professor/Jurist/Lawyers to be nominated by the Chancellor Provided that such of the Associate Professors or Assistant Professors who have been nominated as members of Executive ∗Inserted vide Notification No. S.O.164 dated August 27, 2004, published in Rajasthan Gazette, Extraordinary, dated August 27, 2004. 24 Council by the Vice-Chancellor, shall not be nominated as members of the Academic Council by the Vice-Chancellor: Provided further that an employee of the University shall not be eligible for nomination under category (b). (2) The terms of office of the members other than ex-officio members shall be three years.
