Powers of the Board

Powers of the Board. - The Board shall have the following powers, namely:- (1) to recognize educational or instructional institutions of Indian system of medicine, surgery and midwifery for purposes of registration or enlistment: (2) to grant scholarships to students as may be poor and deserving, or meritorious: and with the sanction of the State Government to grant to students domiciled in Rajasthan scholarships for research or special study in any institution that the Board may think fit: (3) to suspend or withdraw the recognition of any institution: and (4) subject to rules made by the State Government to distribute grants, out of the funds placed at the disposal of the Board, to [1Ayurvedic, Unani Tibbi and Naturopathy and Yoga] dispensaries and hospitals, infirmaries, lying in hospitals, surgical institutions and maternity houses in Rajasthan: and (5) to adopt such measure and to do such acts as may be necessary for the furtherance of the objects of this Act and not inconsistent with the provisions thereof.
