Incorporation.- (1) The first Chairperson and the first President of the University and the first members of the Board of Management and the Academic Council and all persons who may hereafter become such officers or members, so long as they continue to hold such office or membership, are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name of the Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur. (2) The movable and immovable property specified in the Schedule I shall be vested in the University and the Sponsoring 47 Body shall, immediately after the commencement of this Act, take steps for such vesting. (3) The University shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said name. (4) The University shall situate and have its headquarters at Village Buzawad, Tehsil Luni, District Jodhpur (Rajasthan): Provided that the University shall initially commence its operations from its temporary campus specified in Schedule-III and it shall be shifted by the sponsoring body to its headquarters at Village Buzawad, Tehsil Luni, District Jodhpur, Rajasthan within a maximum period of two years from the commencement of this Act: Provided further that if the sponsoring body fails to shift the University to its headquarters within the period specified in the first proviso, on the expiry of the said period provisions of sub- sections (6) to (9) of section 44 shall apply to the University as if order of its liquidation had been made under sub-section (6) thereof.
