Objects of the Institute.- The Institute shall have the following objects, namely:- (a) to offer academic programmes for advanced knowledge in governance and social sciences and to award degrees, diplomas, certificates etc. on successful completion of the programmes; (b) to carry out research, publication, consultancy and advisory work to advance new knowledge and innovation and to provide global leadership in governance and social sciences: Provided that research so conducted shall also be directed towards such areas of study which shall enhance inclusive, equitable and sustainable national and international development goals as enshrined in the objects of this Act; (c) to provide education of governance and social sciences and allied fields with high quality and to promote allied areas of knowledge as well as interdisciplinary studies; (d) to sensitise governance education to the vision of inclusive, equitable and sustainable national and international development goals in order to contribute holistically to society; (e) to support and develop programmes promoting social and gender equity; (f) to develop educational programmes and faculties that advance the cause of governance and social sciences education, teaching and learning, across education disciplines; (g) to set-up centres for study of governance and social sciences and allied areas; (h) to support and collaborate with institutions of governance and social sciences and allied fields and other educational institutions in India; and भाग 4 (क) राजस् थान राज-पत्र, अगस् त 22, 2023 297 (i) to cooperate and collaborate with educational institutions of governance and social sciences and allied fields in other countries to extend the interest of governance and social sciences education and research.
