(1) There shall be established a Board by the name of “Jaipur Water Supply and Sewerage Board” hereinafter called the “Board”. (2) The Board shall be a body corporate by the name aforesaid having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power, subject to the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder, to acquire, hold and dispose of property, and to enter into contracts, and shall by the said name sue and be sued. (3) The Board shall for all purposes be deemed to be a local authority. (4) The Board shall consist of Chairperson and other official and non-official members, not exceeding fifteen persons, as may be prescribed, and appointed by the Government. (5) The non-official members shall be eminent persons one each from the water sector and sewerage sector and the third member shall be an elected representative to represent the interest of general public.
