- In any trial of a scheduled offence under this Act, where it is proved that— (a) the accused has kidnapped or abducted any person from dacoity-affected area, it shall be presumed, unless the contrary is proved, that the accused has kidnapped or abducted such person for ransom; or (b) the accused has wrongfully concealed or confined any person kidnapped or abducted from a dacoity-affected area, it shall be presumed, unless the contrary is proved, that the accused has concealed or confined such person knowing that such person has been so kidnapped or abducted.
