Definitions.- In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) “advertisement” means and includes any notice, circular, label, wrapper, billboard and poster etc. in any form including print, digital, broadcast, designed to promote service or brand to attract attention of potential customers, and to persuade them to take a specific action; भाग 4 (क) राजस् थान राज-पत्र, सितम बर 26, 2025 483 (b) “Authority” means Rajasthan Coaching Centres (Control and Regulation) Authority to be notified by the Government under section 3 of this Act; (c) “coaching” means tuition, instructions or guidance in any branch of learning imparted to students but does not include counselling, sports, dance, theatre and other creative activities; (d) “coaching centre” includes a centre, established, run, or administered by any person to provide coaching for more than 100 students in any study programme or competitive examinations or academic support to students studying in any institution; (e) “District Committee” means committee constituted under section 5 of this Act; (f) “fees” means the sum of money paid for coaching to the registered coaching centre and includes admission fees, teaching fee etc.; (g) “Government” means Government of Rajasthan; (h) “Hostel” means a residential accommodation provided by a coaching centre or person or a society, trust, company to ten or more students on payment basis; (i) “institution” means school or any other educational institution recognized or controlled by, or affiliated to a Board, or controlled or recognized by State/Central Government, an affiliated college, and associated college, a constituted college, a university or educational institution established under the Act of Central Government or State Government; (j) “parent” means biological father or mother of a student and includes a person who has legal responsibility for a student, regardless of biological connection; (k) “person” means an individual and includes a group of persons or a body corporate, or a trust, firm or society or an institution; (l) “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (m) “proprietor” means a person who owns a coaching centre; (n) “registered coaching centre” means the coaching centre registered under this Act; (o) “rules” means rules made under this Act; (p) “student” means a student enrolled in coaching centre; (q) “student’s parent society” means a society formed by parent and registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act, 1958 (Act No. 28 of 1958); (r) “tutor” means a person who guides or trains students in any coaching centre and includes tutor giving specialized tuitions; and (s) “University” means a university established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or a State Act, and includes any such institution as may, in consultation with the University concerned, be recognized by the University Grants Commission in accordance with the regulations made in this behalf under University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (Central Act No. 3 of 1956).
