Powers and fuirctions of the University'- The University shall have the following powers and.functions' namely:' - (J t. provide for instruction in the disciplines specified in ' Schedule ll and to make provisions for research and for the 6 advancement and dissemination ofknowledge; (b) to grant, subject to such conditions as the University may ' ' detirmine, diplomas or certificate, and confer degr'ges or other academic distinctions on the basis of examinationq'' evaluation or any olther'method of testing on persons' and to withdraw any such diplomas, certificates' degrees'r or' other acadbmic distinctions for good and. sulficient cause; (") ib. otgunir. and to undertake e-xtra-mural studies':and extension service; (al io conf"r honorary degrees or other. distinctions in''the' manner prescrlbed; (e) to proviie instruction, including correspondence and such ' , other courses, as it may determine; ; - 1!
