2 (1) The State Government may delegate to any officer any of the powers conferred on it by or under this Act except the powers exercisable by it under 2 [xxx] section 7 or under section 36 or under section 40. 1 (2) The director may, by an order made in this behalf, direct that any of the powers conferred on him by or under this Act shall be exercisable also by such officers subordinate to him as may be specified in such order.
