(1) The Government may appoint a serving or retired officer who has worked on a post equivalent to the rank of Special Secretary to the Government of Punjab or higher, as Secretary of the Authority to exercise such powers and perform such functions, as may be provided by the regulations: (2) The tenure of the Secretary shall be three years and may be extended by another two years by the Government. (3) The salary, allowances and other conditions of service of the Secretary shall be such, as may be specified. (4) The Authority may, with the prior approval of the Government, appoint on contract for a fixed tenure, not exceeding five years, such number of Staff of the Authority. officers and employees, as it considers necessary for the performance of its duties and functions. (5) The salary, allowances and other conditions of service of the officers and employees shall be such, as may be determined by the Government. (6)The Authority may in consultation with the Government, appoint any Government officer or employee on deputation. (7) The Authority may appoint or hire consultants required to assist the Authority in the discharge of its functions.
