(1) The Government shall appoint the Non-official members of the Commission and their salary and perks and other terms and conditions of service shall be fixed by the Government in consultation with the Department of Finance. (2) The Chairperson shall be a person who is a practicing/progressive farmer with at least a graduate degree or an eminent agricultural scientist and who has sufficient exposure regarding current domestic and international agricultural scenario. (3) The salary and allowances and other terms and conditions of appointment of the Member-Secretary shall be fixed by the Government in consultation with the Department of Finance.
