In this Act unless the context otherwise requires.- (a) • "House" includes the staff. quarters and other buildings appurtenant thereto and the gardens thereof. (b) "Maintenance" in relation to a house shalt include the payment of local rates and taxes and charges for electricity and water. '3. There shall be paid to each Deputy Minister, a salary at the rate of ten thousand rupees per mensem, sumptuary allowance at the rate of three thousand five hundred rupees per mens.em and compensatory allowance at the rate of five thousand rupees per mensem. '2. In the Salaries and Allowances of Deputy Ministers, Punjab Act. 1956 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act). for sections 4 and 5, the following sections shall be substituted, namely:- ' "4. Each Deputy Minister shall be provided with free furnished Nouse. the maintenance charges of which shall be Residence of Deputy borne by the State Government, or in lieu of such ministers. house, he shall be paid such monthly allowance, as may be specified, in the rules as my b$framed by the State Government under this Act from time to time. The State Government may also allow him to continue in free occupation of the house provided to him for a period not exceeding fifteen days from the date of his ceasing to be a Deputy Minister. (/) Each Deputy Minister shall be provided with a State Car, Conveyance the expenses on the Maintenance and propulsion of allowance. which shall be borne by the State Government. ' (2) If a Deputy MiniSter does not avail,of or surrenders his State Car and wishes to use his private vehicle for official purpose, he win be paid such allowance, as may be specified in the rules made in this behalf by the State'Government under this Act from time to time". '5-B. Every Deputy Minister alongwith his spouse and his railway. Free trasit by pendent children 'accompanying either-of them and an attendant ' companying him to look after and assist him shall, during the course a financial year, be entitled to travel by any railway in India or within outside India by'an Air-conditioned coach or by air and an amount trivalent to the expenses incurred on such journey shall be reimbursed him : Provided that where a Deputy Minister travels by his own motor car nd furnishes a cash receipt from a licensed dealer indicating the name of e Deputy Minister, quantity of petrol or diesel purchased by him 'for opulsion of his motor car, the date on which it was purchased, the-cost ereof and the registration number of his motor car, the expenses so incurred all be reimbursed to him : Provided further that the total expenses incurred for the facilities ecified in this section shall not exceed the amount of one lac twenty five ousand rupees in a financial year, 'New Section 5-A added by Punjab Act 5 of 1970. which was modified ti!,. There shall be paid to the Deputy Minister, constituency, secretarial and postal facilities allowances at the rate of eight thousand rupees per mensem and office *allowance in constituency at the rate of five thousand rupees per mensem. 25-C. (I) Subject to such conditions and limitations as may be Grant of Loan prescribed by rules, there may be paid to each Deputy Minister by way of a re-payable advance :— *(a) a sum of money not exceeding ten lac rupees for building or purchasing of house or for making major repairs, additions or 'alteration in the house," and (b) a sum of money not exceeding six lac rupees or the anticipated price; whichever be less, for purchase of a Motor-car or a Jeep .or for conversion of a petrol-driven' Motor-cat or a Jeep to a diesel driven vehicle, or a 'sum of money not exceeding twenty- five thousand rupees or the anticipated price, whichever be less, for purchase of a Motor Cycle or a Scooter.
