Structural requirements:- (i) All floors, galleries, tiers, posts, columns, joints, trusses, stairways and landings in the building shall be of fire-resisting material. (ii) Partition shall be made of fire-resisting material or of wood not less than 1¾ inch thick and certified by the Executive Engineer to be hard wood. [(iii) The building shall have a roof. All ceilings and panelling shall be made of fire- resisting material or from compressed or synthetic material treated against flaming which has been certified by the Executive Engineer to be suitable for the purpose intended.]. (iv) All floors including galleries, landings and corridors with their supports shall be capable of supporting a static load of one hundred pounds per square foot and, as in alternative loading, every step or landing shall be strong enough to support a point load of three hundred pounds placed in any position. __________________ *See Pb.
