The Government shall provide the facility of free legal aid to the prisoners in accordance with the provisions of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (Central Act No. 39 of 1987) and the Standard Operating Procedure prescribed by the National Legal Services Authority or State Legal Services Authority or District Legal Services Authority or as may be prescribed.
