(1) Any prisoner who commits the offence of criminal intimidation on a prison officer or staff or their family inside and outside the prison premises shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than one year but which may extend to three years, and with fine which may extend to two lakh rupees. (2) Any prisoner who commits the offence of criminal intimidation by threatening to cause death or grievous hurt to a prison officer or staff or Punishment for assault or criminal force. Punishment for escaping from a prison. Punishment for mischief causing damage to prison property. Punishment for criminal intimidation of a prison officer or staff etc. PUNJAB GOVT. GAZ.(EXTRA), MAY 21, 2026 (VYSK 31, 1948 SAKA) 611 their family, or to cause the destruction of any property by fire, or to cause an offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than one year but which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine which may extend to five lakh rupees.
