In this Act unless the context otherwise requires, (a) "defacement" includes impairing or interfering with the appearance of beauty, damaging, disfiguring, spoiling or in juring in any other way whatsoever and the word 'deface shall be construed accordingly; (b) "property" includes any land, building, hut, structure, wall, tree, fence, post, pole or any other erection; and (c) "writing" includes decoration, lettering or ornamentation, produced by stencil. 19 3 () whoever defaces any property in public view by 'writing narking with ink, chalk. paint or any other material or by erecting Surts, banners or by pasting noticas and writing s!}i13 without the WEtten permission of the owner of the proprty, 'except for the purpose nndicating the nam: and address of ths ownr or occupier of such Property, shall be punishabl: with in:is onmnt for a tern, which may vAtend to six mTnths or with fine which may oxtend to one thousand Tupzes or with both. or (2) Where any offence committed under sub-section (), is for the L Or Some other person or a company or other bodyj corporate or Short title, extent and COmmencement.
