Special functions of Gram Panchayat.-- It shall be the duty of the Gram Panchayat within the Gram Sabha area to perform - THE PUNJAB PANCHAYATI RAJ ACT, 1994 55 (a) the duties of the panchayat under the Punjab Village and Small Town Patrol Act, 1918 or amy other law for the time being in force; and (b) such duties of village headman in connection with village watchman as the State Government may prescribe by rules under section 39-A of the Punjab Laws Act, 1872 or any other law for the time being in force.
