Reservation of offices of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Zila Parishads.-- There shall be reservation for the offices of Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen in the manner prescribed by the State Government-- (a) such number of offices of Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of Zila Parishads for the persons belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the number of such offices bearing as nearly as may be the same proportion to the total number of offices in the State of Punjab as —————— 114 THE PUNJAB PANGHAYATI RAJ ACT, 1994 —_————<$ the population of the Scheduled Castes in the State of Punjab bears to the total population of the State of Punjab; | (b) not less than one-third of the total number of offices of the Chairmen and the Vice-Chairmen of the Zila Parishads in the State of Punjab shail be reserved for women.
