Appropriation of the proceeds of local rate.-- The proceeds of local rate levied in the area of a Panchayat Samiti shall be allotted to that Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad in such ratio as the State Government it may consider appropriate: Provided that the State Government may direct that the whole or any portion of the net proceeds of the local rate levied within the limits of any Municipality or Cantonment, after deducting the expenses of collection shall be carried to the credit of the Municipal Fund or made available for the purpose of public improvement in the Cantonment.
