Seating arrangement of Polling Officers and voting procedure in the polling station.- (a) The table of the first Polling Officer shall be near the entrance inside the polling station and when an elector arrives at the polling station, this Polling Officer shall check the elector's name and other particulars with the relevant entry in the Roll and then call out the serial number, name and other particulars of the elector. (2) After his identity is established, the elector will proceed to the second Polling Officer who will mark his left fore-finger in the manner provided in rule 61. (3) The elector will then proceed to the third Polling Officer who will hand over the ballot paper and marking stamp to him after noting particulars of the elector and obtaining his signatures on the counterfoil of the ballot paper and also mark the name of the elector in the marked copy of the electoral roll. (4) The elector will then g to the polling compartment where he will mark his choice on the ballot paper and after coming out return the marking stamp to the third Polling Officer and insert the ballot paper in the ballot box placed in front of the Presiding Officer, after folding it property. (5) The Commission may, if considered necessary, modify the duties of the Polling Officers as it may deem fit.
