(1) Subject to provisions of this Act, in addition to ex-officio members specified in this Act, the Governing Body shall consist of the following members, namely:- (a) Ex-officio Members- (i) the Proctor; (ii) the Deans of Schools; (iii) the Deans of Students’ Welfare; (iv) the Finance Officer; (v) one Senior Warden, by rotation; (vi) the Librarian of the University; (vii) the President, Alumni Association; (viii) Heads of Departments or Professors who are members of the Academic and Activity Council; (b) other Members, who shall hold office for a period of three years- PUNJAB GOVT. (i) one representative from each institution recognized by or affiliated to the University, nominated by the Vice-Chancellor on recommendations of the Head of the Institution; (ii) not more than ten persons from amongst eminent sports scientists, sports academicians, sports administrators and sports persons of eminence to be nominated by the Government. (2) An annual general meeting of the Governing Body shall be held on a date to be fixed by the Chairperson of the Governing Body. (3) At an annual general meeting of the Governing Body, a report on the working of the University during the previous year, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure, audited balance sheet and budget estimates for the next year shall be presented. (4) A copy of the statement of receipts and expenditure, balance sheet and the budget estimates referred to in clause (3) shall be sent to every member of the Governing Body at least seven days before the date of the annual general meeting. (5) Special meetings of the Governing Body may be convened by the Executive Council with the prior approval of the Chairperson of the Governing Body. (6) Eleven members of the Governing Body shall form a quorum for a meeting and decisions shall be taken by majority.
