In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, - (a) "Advocate General" means a person appointed under Article 165 of the Constitution of India as Advocate General for the State of Punjab and includes any person appointed to act temporarily as such; (b) "Category" means the category of post of Law Officers specified in section 3 of this Act and includes such other categories of Law Officers, as may be determined by the Government, by notification from time to time; (c) "Government" means the Government of the State of Punjab in the Department of Justice; Short title and commencement. Definitions. (d) "Law Officer" means an Advocate engaged under this Act as a Law Officer in the office of Advocate General by the Government; (e) "Scrutiny Committee" means the Committee to be notified under section 6 of this Act; and (f) "Selection Committee" means a Committee constituted under Section 7 of this Act.
