Remission of rent by courts decreeing arrears. —Notwith- standing anything in the foregoing sections of this Chapter if it appears to a Court making a decree for an arrear of rent that the area of a tenancy has been so diminished by diluvion or otherwise or that the produce thereof has been so diminished by drought, hail deposit of sand or other like calamity, that the full amount of rent payable by the tenant cannot be equitably decreed, the Court may with-the previous sanction of the Col- lector, allow such remission from the rent payable by tenant as may ap- pear to it to be just.
