(1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act I of 1894), the award of the Tribunal in relation to the acquisition of land shall be deemed to be the award of the court under the said Act. (2) Any person who does not agree to the amount of the compensation awarded by the Tribunal for the land acquired for the Board under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act I of 1894), or to the persons to whom it is payable or to the apportionment of the compensation among those persons may, within sixty days from the date of the award of the Tribunal, prefer an appeal to the High Court: Provided that the High Court may entertain the appeal after the expiry of the said period of sixty days, if it is satisfied that the appellant was prevented by sufficient cause from filing the appeal in time. (3) Any award of the Tribunal referred to in sub-section (1) shall, subject to sub-section (2), and any decision of the Constitution of a Tribunal for certain purposes. Officers and servants of the Tribunal. Payments by Board on account of Tribunal. Appeals from awards of Tribunal. Tribunal on any matter referred to it under this Act shall be final and shall not be liable to be questioned in any court of law.
