(1) As soon as may be, after the commencement of this Act, the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute a Corporation for the State of Punjab to be called the "Punjab Health Systems Corporation." (2) The Corporation shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power, subject to the provisions of this Act and the regulations made thereunder, to acquire, hold and dispose of property, and to enter into contracts, and shall by the said name sue and be sued. (3) The Corporation shall consist of,- 1[(a) The Chairman of the Corporation, who shall be an eminent public person or a distinguished and eminent medical person; (aa) The Vice-Chairman of the Corporation, who shall be the Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department of Health and Family Welfare;] 2[(aaa) another Vice-Chairman, who may be appointed as such from amongst the members of the Board of Directors;] (b) the Managing Director, who shall be an officer of the India Administrative Service; (c) a Board of Directors; and (d) such other employees, as may be determined by the Board of Directors. 1Substituted by Punjab Act No. 14 of 2004, Section 3 2Inserted by Punjab Act No. 36 of 2011, Section 2 Constitution of the Corporation. (4) The salary and other terms and conditions of the Service of the Managing Director and those of the other employees of the Corporation shall be such, as may be specified by regulations.
