Save as otherwise provided in this Act, on and from the date of commencement of this Act,- (1) in the Punjab Municipal Corporations Act, 1976,- (i) in section 90, in sub-section (1), clauses (b) and (d) shall be omitted. (ii) in Section 113,the following shall be omitted, namely:- “ Except as hereinafter provided, the Corporation shall levy octroi on articles and animals, imported into the City, at such rates as may be specified by the Government: Provided that with effect from the commencement of the Punjab Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2006, no octroi shall be levied, except on electricity, petrol and diesel: Anti- profiteering Measure. Removal of difficulties. Omissions, substitutions, and insertions in the Acts. Amendment of certain Acts. PUNJAB GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA), JUNE 23, 2017 (ASAR 2, 1939 SAKA) 162 Provided further that”; (iii) Section 122 shall be omitted; (2) in the Punjab Municipal Act 1911, in section 61, in sub-section (2-A), the word "electricity" shall be omitted; and (3) in the Punjab Infrastructure (Development and Regulation) Act, 2002, in Schedule-III, Serial No. 1 and entries relating thereto, shall be omitted.
