(1) No Court shall take cognizance of an offence punishable under this Act except upon complaint in writing made by the competent authority or any officer authorised in this behalf by the competent authority by general or special order. 1 Substituted by Punjab Act No.7 of 2022, Section 12 2 Omitted by Punjab Act No.7 of 2022, Section 12 Cognizance of offences etc. (2) No Court inferior to that of a 1[Judicial Magistrate] of first class shall try any offence punishable under this Act.
