(1) Whoever contravenes any provision of this Act shall, if no specific penalty is specified for the contravention of that provision, be punished with a fine which,- (i) for low-risk buildings and pandals, may start fromtwenty thousand rupees and may extend upto thirty thousand rupees; (ii) for medium-risk buildings and pandals, may start from twenty thousand rupees and may extend upto forty thousand rupees; and (iii) for high-risk buildings and pandals, may start from thirty thousand rupees and may extend upto fifty thousand rupees. (2) In case the offence is a continuing one, a further fine in addition to the abovementioned fine may be imposed which may extend upto three thousand rupees for every day calculated after the date of imposition of first fine till continuity of such offence. (3) For habitual offenders, above penalties may be doubled. A person who is liable for punishment under this section shall be treated as a habitual offender when the general penalty is being imposed upon him for some contravention of a provision for which they have already been punished twice under this section.
