Two possible views - Accused entitled to benefit of doubt. - In a criminal trial, benefit of doubt often plays an important part. If some of the evidence leads to a conclusion that a man is guilty and if another part of the evidence in the same case indicates that the man may not be guilty, or if two possible views of conflicting nature can be spelt out from the entire facts of the case, the accused gets benefit of doubt.
