Subject to the provisions ofthis Act, thCStatutesand the Ordiices, theAcadernic Powers and Council shall,in addition to allotherpornvestalin it. have the following powers, nameb- finc'ions Of Acadcmic (a)to exercise general supervision over the academic policia of the University Cauncil and to give d i o o s regardiig meihods of irLbuction, coordination of teaching among the Colleges M the Instim'ons, evaluation of research and improvement of academic standards: (b) to bring about and promole interSchool co-ordination and to establish or appoint such committee or boards IWmay be dcemed necessary for the purpose; (c) toconsider mattersofgeneral academic h s teither on its own initiative, or on a referen& by a School or the Executive Council, and to take appropriate action thereon; and (4to h e such Regulations and mles consistent with the Statutes and the Ordinances regudiigthe academic functioning of the Uoivwsity, discipline, residence, admissions, award of fellowships and studmhips, fees, concessions, c o r p o h life and attendance.
