(I)The Chanccilor shall be appointed by the Visitor from a panel of not less than three persons recommended by the Executive Council from amongst perwns of eminence in the academic or public life of the country: Provided that if the Visitor does not appro* of any of the perwns so recommended, he may call for fresh recommendations fromtheExeeutive Council. (2)The Chancellor shall hold office fora term of f i n ycanand shall not be eligible for reappointment: Rovided that notwithdig the expiry of his term of office. the Chancellor shall continue to hold office until his succ+ssor enters upon his office.
