(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the rules made thereunder and the directions of the Government and the Board, the powers and functions of the Planning Authority shall be --- (i) to prepare in respect of the Planning area -- (a) an Existing Land Use Map and Land Use Register; (b) an Interim Development Plan; (c) a Comprehensive Development Plan; (d) a Detailed Development Plan; (ii) to prescribe uses of land within its area and for these purposes it may carry out or caused to be carried out surveys of its Planning area; and (iii) to prepare report or reports of such survey; and (iv) to perform any other function which is supplemental, incidental or consequential to any of the functions aforesaid or which may be prescribed.
