Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act,- (1) The Board of Governors of Pondicherry Engineering College constituted and functioning immediately before the commencement of this Act, shall continue to so function, until a new Board of Governors is constituted for the University under this Act. However, on the constitution of the Governing Board of Governors under this Act, the Members of the Pondicherry Engineering College holding office before such constitution shall cease to hold office; and (2) The Academic Council constituted by Pondicherry Engineering College before the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to be the Academic Council constituted for the purpose of this Act, until the Academic Council is constituted under this Act. However, on the constitution of the Academic Council under this Act, the Members of the Academic Council of Pondicherry Engineering College holding office before such constitution shall cease to hold office.
