Application of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961. – Notwithstanding anything contained in the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 (hereinafter in this section referred to as the said Act), the Government may, by notification, direct that, the said Act or any of the provisions thereof or the rules made thereunder shall apply to women employed in shops and establishments covered under the provisions of this Act. *[45A.
