(1) The Director or the Settlement Officer may either of his own motion or on the application of any person:- (a) if he is satisfied that a bona fide mistake has been made in regard to any decision or proceedings under this Act, make or cause to be made the necessary correction thereon; (b) at any time correct or cause to be corrected any clerical or arithmetical mistake in any such decision or proceeding. (2) The Collector may, at any time during the currency of the settlement, correct any error in the area or assessment of any Survey number or sub-division due to a mistake of survey or arithmetical miscalculation: Provided that no arrears of land revenue accruing to the Government or refund thereof to the registered holder shall become payable by reason of such correction.
