If, on the application of the Health Officer, the Magistrate having jurisdiction is satisfied that it is necessary, in the interest of public health and in order to prevent the spread of any communicable disease, to close any dwelling or lodging house or any place where articles of food are sold or prepared, stored, or exposed for sale or distribution, the Magistrate may, by order, direct it to be closed until the expiry of such period as may be specified in the order or until it is certified by the Health Officer that there is no further risk of spread of infection.
