(1) The Government shall have power to make rules providing for the protection, maintenance and periodical examination of sources of water supply in the Union territory. (2) The Health Officer shall exercise such powers and discharge such duties as may be prescribed, so that adequate control could be made by him with regard to insanitary sources of water supply.
