Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any law, or in any contract, custom or usage, or in any judgment, decree or order of court, a mortgagee with possession of immovable property at the commencement of the Mahe Land Reforms (Amendment) Act, 1980, shall be deemed to be a tenant if --- (a) he was holding such property in consideration of payment of customary dues or any amount specified as michavaram in the document evidencing the transaction; or (b) there is a provision in such document for renewal on the expiry of a specified period;] Right to prove real nature of transaction
