(1) This Act may be called the Mahe Land Reforms Act, 1968. (2) It extends to the whole of Mahe region of the Union territory of Puducherry. 1 (3) The provisions of this Act, except this section which shall come into force at once, shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint: Provided that different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act, and any reference to the commencement of this Act in relation to any such provision, shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision.
