(1) Where, in respect of any land the possession of which has been taken by the authorised officer under section 32, the contract of tenancy provides for the continuance of the tenancy after the expiry of the agricultural year immediately succeeding the date of taking such possession, the Government shall pay to the tenant such amount as is provided in sub-section (2). * Inserted vide Act No.7 of 2003 w.e.f 10-7-2003. 193 (2) The amount payable to any tenant under sub-section (1) shall be one-eighth of the fair rent for the land calculated in the manner specified in paragraph 4 of Part I of Schedule I and out of such amount, three-fourths shall be paid to the cultivating tenant and one-fourth to the intermediary, if any, (3) If any dispute arises in regard to the amount payable under sub-section (2), either party may make an application to the Land Tribunal within whose jurisdiction the land or the major part thereof is situated and the Land Tribunal shall decide such dispute in such manner as may be prescribed.
