Definitions. -- In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context – (a) “agricultural year” means the year commencing from 1st day of May; (b) “Conciliation Officer” means, in relation to any area, the Conciliation Officer appointed under this Act for such area and where no such officer has been appointed, the Revenue Officer/Tahsildar having jurisdiction over the area; (c) ”Government” means the Administrator appointed by the President under article 239 of the Constitution of India; (d) “gross produce” includes the yield obtained at the poradi;
