Duties of Police Officer.- (1) It shall be the duty of every police officer to assist the Registrar or any person sub-ordinate to the Registrar reasonably demanding his aid for the lawful exercise of any power vesting in the Registrar or such persons under this Act or any rule, or by-law made thereunder. (2) Any police officer who omits or refuses to perform any duty imposed on him under sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have committed an offence under section 29 of the Police Act, 1861 (Central Act 5 of 1861).
