Section 13

Change of name

Change of name.- (1) A society may, by resolution passed at a general meeting and with the approval of the Registrar, change its name. (2) Where a society changes its name, the Registrar shall enter the new name in the register of co-operative societies in the place of the former name and shall also amend the certification of registration accordingly. 53 (3) The change of the name of a society shall not affect any rights or obligations of the society or render defective any legal proceedings by or against it, and any legal proceedings which might have been continued or commenced by or against the society under its former name may be continued or commenced under its new name.
