Winding up and cancellation of Registration of registered societies.- (1) If the Registrar, after an inquiry has been held under section 75 or an inspection has been made under section 76 or section 77, or on receipt of an application made by not less than three-fourths of the members of a registered society, is of opinion that the society ought to be wound up, he may, after giving the society an opportunity of making its representations, by order in writing direct it to be wound up and a copy of the order shall forthwith be communicated to the society by registered post. (2) The Registrar may, by order in writing, direct the winding up of a registered society– (a) where it is a condition of the registration of the society that the society shall consist of at least twenty-five members and the number of members has been reduced to less than twenty-five; or 108 (b) where the society has not commenced working within the prescribed period or has ceased to work; or (c) where in the opinion of the Registrar the society has no longer genuinely as its objects one or more of the objects specified in sub-section (1) of section 4 of this Act and has been working mainly for promoting the interests of any individual or group of individuals and not of the members generally.
