Penalties. – If the owner or person in charge of a cinematograph uses the same or allows it to be used, or if the owner of occupier of any place permits that 405 place to be used, in contravention of the provisions of this Act or of the rules made thereunder, or of the conditions and restrictions upon or subject to which any licence has been granted under this Act, he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees and, in the case of a continuing offence, with a further fine which may extend to one hundred rupees for each day during which the offence continues. *[10 A. Composition of offences. Any offence punishable under section 10, or any breach of the conditions of the licence or any contravention of the provision of this Act and rules made thereunder may, either before or after the institution of prosecution, or cancellation or suspension of the licence issued under the provisions of this Act, be compounded by the District Magistrate on payment of such sum, as the District Magistrate thinks fit.]
