(1) Every market committee shall establish in the notified area such number of markets providing for such facilities as the Government may, from time to time direct, for the purchase and sale of any notified agricultural produce and shall provide such facilities in such markets as may be specified by the Government from time to time by a general or special order. (2) The Government shall, as soon as may be, after the establishment of a market by a market committee under sub-section (1), declare, by notification, the area of the market and such area adjoining thereto as may be specified in such notification to be a notified market area for the purposes of this Act in respect of any notified agricultural produce. (3) The Government may, by notification, alter the limits of any notified market area either by altering the area of the market or the area adjoining thereto.
