(1) This Act may be called The Prevention of Seditious Meetings Act, 1911. (2) It extends to the whole of India except [territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States,] but shall have operation only in such States or parts of States as the State Government may from time to time notify in the Official Gazette.
