Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of Police :– (1) The Government may appoint a police officer to be the Commissioner for any area specified in the notification, under Section 4. (2) The Government may also appoint one or more Additional Commissioners to assist the Commissioner in discharge of his duties under this Act. (3) Subject to the general control and supervision of the Director General of Police, the Commissioner shall exercise such powers, perform such functions and duties and shall have such responsibilities, and authority as are provided by or under this Act or the rules.
